Memorial Day – a day of remembrance

Memorial Day is more than just a day off from work or school, an excellent occasion for a backyard b-b-q- or a chance to travel. This holiday is not one of somber reflection, however. We instead choose to celebrate by enjoying the many freedoms that American servicemen and women have perished protecting.

Since the founding of the USA, the country has been involved in twelve major wars spanning every continent. Reddit user Flynavy88 created a chart documenting the total U.S. casualties suffered in each of these wars.
