28th Annual Texas Blueberry Festival June 10, 2017 in downtown Nacogdoches! The Texas Blueberry Festival is a delightful day of the America you dreamed still existed. This is the most delicious festival in the Lone Star State.
But First, Friday Night! Tonight!
The Blueberry Bluegrass Concert in the Park, held Tonight (Friday Evening) June 9 from 6:00 until 10:00 PM. The concert is free and open to the public.
Several food vendors will be on site, and restrooms will be available. Volunteers with golf carts will assist those with mobility challenges getting from the parking lot to the concert seating area.
This is a family-friendly event, and no alcohol or coolers are allowed. Concert-goers should bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating. This year, children’s activities will be directed by the Nacogdoches Public Library staff during the concert. Performing at this year’s concert are the Blake Brothers Bluegrass Band, The Baker Family, The Purple Hulls, and Sabine River Bend Band.
Downtown streets will be barricaded Friday afternoon preparing for the Texas Blueberry Festival. Gates to Festival Park on South Pecan and South Fredonia Streets will be closed for the safety of concert-goers. Those attending the concert are advised to park in these areas:
1. Parking closest to the Festival Park concert venue is at the Nacogdoches City Garage, at 114 W. Cox Street. There is plenty of parking here. From West Main Street, turn south on Bremond Street, across from Lone Star Farm & Home Store. Then turn left on West Cox Street and look for volunteers directing you where to park.
2. Remote parking with free shuttle bus service to the concert venue is at First Baptist Church, 411 North Street. Parking is courtesy of First Baptist Church and the SFA Shuttle Buses are arranged in partnership with the SFA Alumni Association.
