Listening, a Lost Art?

  • “Let the wise listen and add to their learning” (Proverbs 1: 5).
  • “To answer before listening—that is folly and shame” (Proverbs 18: 13).

Examine your listenership and be willing to grow… Because here’s the deal: People feel more loved and valued if we are actively and attentively listening to them.

So why don’t we take listening more seriously? We may know that listening is important, but without even being aware, we interrupt, dive in with our own stories, give unwanted advice, or simply space out.
