Baseball & the Pickled Stuffed Dog

Baseball season kicks off and the Texas Rangers stadium has a new PICKLE CORN DOG on the menu. I love the wild stadium food! I know I’m going to spend a fortune to take my family, but at least they have some unique food!

Globe Life Park, home of the Texas Rangers, has announced its new food offerings for 2018, and one item in particular has sparked a great deal of controversy: the Dilly Dog.

This over-the-top new concession involves a giant, hollowed-out Best Maid pickle that is stuffed with a beef hot dog, dipped in batter, and deep-fried. The Dilly Dog has been the source of much debate among sports journalists and fans alike, with plenty of people falling into both the “would eat” and “would never eat” camps. “Pickles on their own — delicious, depending on the person,” reads an op-ed at Sports Illustrated. “But stuffed together and deep fried? Absolutely not.”
