Remove the impurities from silver, and the sterling will be ready for the silversmith. – Proverbs 25:4 NLT

Most people use cause-and-effect theology when making life decisions. This theology is also called sowing and reaping: the choices we make are causes (what we sow), whether they are conscious or unconscious, and will produce corresponding outcomes or effects (reaping).
This worldly wisdom might be well reasoned and seem effective on the surface, but the formula won’t work with God. This kind of wisdom, based on puffed up knowledge, is foolishness in God’s eyes (1 Cor. 3:19).
