It’s not often when Kevin or I include something about Space Travel in our blog… I have to do this one! Since I was a small child… I’ve been fascinated with “What’s beyond our atmosphere” (I,e, Space)… When I saw this and read this – I had to submit it… No matter which side of the conversation about Space your on… Consider!?
Vice President Mike Pence just made a bold announcement on Tuesday.
The United States military will be going to space.
He put faith at the center of the conversation when he added, “as we embark, we do so with faith.” Of those who go into space, he said, “even there His hand will guide you, His right hand will hold you fast.”
I’m proud we have a Vice President who recognizes the role our faith plays in charting the course of our nation. When we take a stand to defend what is important to us, we look beyond what we can see and recognize the spiritual battle we’re in.
Without apology, I believe the spiritual side of our lives really does matter. To believe otherwise is, in essence, to define humans as little more than animated protoplasm hopelessly going about our routines for no particular purpose.
I prefer to believe that as spiritual beings, there is more to us than flesh and blood.
If we do possess a soul capable of living beyond our physical world, then the seeds we plant in this lifetime will yield fruit forever.
If you believe those things, the ultimate becomes more important than the immediate. When we decide to live beyond our lifetime, our responsibilities to the next generations goes beyond the horizon of our current jobs.
I think you and I are on the same page when it comes to this. When others are trying to push Jesus to the side, we are the ones who must stand and act.
When I look back on 2018 at what God has allowed us to accomplish together, it’s clear to me that you believe in our charted course – our mission – …
(I did not include any of the information not directly pertinent to Space Travel… Thanks for understanding.)
It’s up to you and me to make the choices, often-small choices, but the ones driven by our faith that will produce the most meaningful and lasting impact.
United. We Stand.
