Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me stand
I’m tired, I’m weak, I’m lone
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
The words of that old hymn are from Thomas Dorsey, the son of a minister, had a budding career as a secular artist, although he had a strong faith in God.
That faith was soon shaken when his wife and child died during childbirth while he was away singing at a revival.
Dorsey became bitter at God. But God did not give up on Dorsey.
