Life is never a straight line

Life is never a straight line, it is full of twists and turns. The best way to lead a happy life is not to avoid them but to embrace them, to find every little happiness in them. W.T.VanderVen

Word Power, Power Thoughts, Manly or Girly, Back Pack Giveaway, We are what we eat

Word Power: I recently read an article that compelled me to think about words and their power.
If you possess any doubt about how powerful words are, think about this for a moment: God created the heavens and the earth with words. Why is this significant? Because you are made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26), which means you are a ‘speaking spirit.’ You possess creative power and just like God, you create your world with your words!
The minister further pointed out the demonstration of how powerful words are… It’s found in Proverbs 18:21, which tells us “life and death” are in the power of the tongue. Maybe we should be careful today, we’re walking around with a powerful tool for evil or good. Choose your words wisely.

Power Thoughts:

  1. “Few cases of eye strain have been developed by looking on the bright side of things.” Unknown
  2. “What seems impossible one minute becomes, through faith, possible the next.” – Norman Vincent Peale
  3. “Don’t just try, do. Don’t just do, be all God has for you.” Al Ross

Is there something “manly” that you do better than your husband or boyfriend — OR — is there something considered “girlie” that your guy does better than you? We took an small unscientific poll, here are some of the responses. Any thoughts?

A. I think my hubby does everything better than me. Want to know why? Because he is more patient, takes his time. I on the other hand…lol. Don’t. I’m always in such a rush. (BK)
B. I can split wood…which is something most men I know won’t even do! (VS)
c. I’m married to such a great guy….He is teaching me to slow things down and just “go through the process” (PH)

We are what we eat. We’ve all heard it, but most of us probably don’t quite believe it. After all, you’ve had french fries and didn’t sprout french fry antennae. So we’re not really what we eat … are we? According to a report at MSNBC, The nutritional content of what we eat determines the composition of our cell membranes, bone marrow, blood, and hormones.

1. A new study on “Actual Causes of Death in the United States” shows that death was premature and would’ve been postponed by modifying behaviors, included smoking, diet and exercise, alcohol consumption, use of firearms, sexual behavior, motor vehicle crashes, and illicit drug use. However obesity and diabetes were the biggest category.
2. Expert suggest “clean food” as an urgent priority and “junk” food just be abandon. In short, our bodies are only as clean as the food we feed them.
3. Good News:  If you answer, yes, yes, yes, and no to the following, you’ll live longer and healthier. Are you eating well? Are you a healthy weight? Are you physically active? Do you smoke?
