“My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?” – Bob Hope
Christmas is the perfect time to invite someone to church. Every day people are faced with staggering circumstances and Christmastime is no exception.
We are reminded that Jesus is love not only through His resurrection, but also His birth.
Whether someone comes to church out of curiosity, a willingness to try something new or in desperate need of a Savior, it could be your invitation that leads them to Jesus.
Grandma invites wrong teen to Thanksgiving, now every teen wants to come! By Sophie Hirsh
Usually, a text sent to a wrong number is nothing but a mundane annoyance. But for Jamal Hinton, a 17-year-old from Phoenix, it turned into a new friend and a Thanksgiving dinner invitation.
As our nation continues on what appears to be a free-fall descent into lawlessness, there’s only one viable solution: Pray & Commit to Vote. And, as Christ followers, we know the first step to seeing our land healed starts with us, the Body osf Christ.
LET’S GET STARTED: Please commit to pray with us daily throughout the month of October. You can follow along with us when you download our complimentary guide. Each day helps you get started by focusing on a different topic or need in our culture. And should a friend, family member or neighbor share their concerns with you about this election, why not invite them to join you in intervening on the nation’s behalf? Who knows how God might choose to use you — and them — to make Himself known!

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” — Matthew 7:7-8 ESV
A quickie definition of ‘friendly’ would be being nice to, and interested in, other people and ‘Social’ as spending a fair amount of time with other people and enjoying it.
If you are not a natural social butterfly here are some things you could possibly try:
- Start conversations with new people
- Chat back to people who try to talk to you
- Take time to talk to people you already know
- Invite people to do things with you/the group
- Be the one to invite people out rather than waiting for them to come to you first.
- Make an effort to bring new people into the fold and make them feel included
- Go to where the people are
- Spend more time with people
- Make nice little gestures towards other people
- Offer compliments to people
