Conquer Your Fears

by Mary Fairchild from ThoughCo.com

Jesus spoke the Word of God throughout his ministry. When faced with the devil’s lies and temptations, he countered with the truth of God’s Word. The spoken Word of God is like a living, powerful sword in our mouths (Hebrews 4:12), and if Jesus depended upon it to face challenges in life, so can we.

If you need encouragement from God’s Word to conquer your fears, take strength from these Bible verses about courage.

Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.
(NKJV)

Psalm 27:1
The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?
(NKJV)

Psalm 56:3-4
When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?
(NIV)

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
(NIV)

Isaiah 41:13
For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
(NIV)

Isaiah 54:4
Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; Neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame; For you will forget the shame of your youth, And will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore.
(NKJV)

Matthew 10:26
Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.
(NKJV)

Matthew 10:28
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
(NKJV)

Bragging on God at Your Church

What special thing happened at your church this week?  What do you love about your church family? 800-944-8443

You know how most Sundays you go to church afterwards maybe go out to eat.  Real Routine! Then there are some Sundays that are spectacular… This last weekend, Sunday was like a triple combo.

First, we had the group “Harmony” come and sing – WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! If you ever have the opportunity to hear them sing I highly recommend them.

Second, a person in our church came to Jesus. It was an answer to many prayers and a real time of celebration for his family and I know the angels in heaven celebrated too.

Third, it was 5th Sunday potluck!  Our church may be small but we know how to cook that’s for sure. We all ate too much!  I think they should offer recliners or walkers to all who attend so we can nap or wheel our big bellies out the door.

PrayerWorks: I was so ready for peace in my life. You might think once you put your trust in Jesus that all is good! Soon after I received Jesus as my Savior and was baptized, the enemy came at me with everything he had. However, because I knew I was saved and that I was a new creature in Christ Jesus. I knew this battle was won!. I broke down and cried like never before. I then had a revelation of who Jesus really was and is for me. The revelation was the world and people could not fix me. They do not have the answers! Jesus is the only True way to salvation…to this day I follow Jesus.
