Local Toy Drives This Friday & Saturday

The Lufkin Marine Corps League will conduct a two day toy drive this Friday and Saturday at the Walmart Super Center in Lufkin from sun-up into the evening both days.

We need your help desperately! Applications for toys are up substantially so monetary donations and toys are very much appreciated. Come see us and help put smiles on the faces of less fortunate children this Christmas!

Should Your Church Have to Hand Over Your SS#? When you put money into the offering plate at church, the IRS wants to collect something too. For donations of at least $250, the tax agency wants to give church officials the option of handing over their donors’ Social Security numbers. Currently churches and charities are required to send an acknowledgement letter to their donors for their tax records. (More at CBN)

The Manger Network needs volunteer help sorting and distributing toys to over 400 Children that have not been adopted so the Manger Network will help the families with Christmas gifts.

Thursday       December 13, 6pm – 9pm @ 1st Church of the Nazarene / Sorting Day
1st Church of the Nazarene is on the Loop across from Loving Toyota.
We will be putting the gifts in bags for the families to pick up. This takes about 40 to 60 volunteers.

Saturday       December 15, 8am – 1pm @ 1st Church of the Nazarene / Distribution Day
1st Church of the Nazarene is on the Loop across from Loving Toyota.
We have invited all those who have called requesting assistance to come to the church on Saturday and get their gifts for their children.
